# Setting number field as currency, phone number, social security, etc. on interview#128

Merged into Allow custom formatting for number variables within the questionnaire (not just the documents) #52

I know we can use code to manipulate numbers on the document templates, but it would be great if the number fields on the interview could already be formatted as desired.

**Example:** Clients see a long string of numbers when they input currency values. With no commas, it’s difficult to see if the number they typed is correct.
